Instructor

    
     Derrick Wright is the chief instructor at Wright's KUNG FU. He has more than 20 years of experience in the martial arts and is a board member and affiliate school of the US Kung Fu Exchange Federation. He held the post of president from 2005-2009. The USKFE was founded in 1975 by Grandmaster Raymond Fogg and is one of the largest praying mantis kung fu organization in the United States with affiliate schools in California, Florida, Louisiana, New York and Texas.

     Sifu Wright became a certified instructor in Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu under Grandmaster Lee Kam Wing in 2004 and earned the title of "Sifu" in 2005 from the United States Kung Fu Exchange Federation while training under Master John Cheng. He was the very first instructor to be certified under Master Kenneth Edwards of the Shan Tung Kung Fu Association in 1997. In 2004 he was recognized and ranked internationally with the World Wushu Kung Fu Federation.  

     Sifu Wright has also had the opportunity to train in seminars with Master Henry Chung of Midland, MI, Grandmaster Raymond Fogg, Master Carl
, Albright of New York, Master Brandon Jones of Tyler, Texas Master Jeff Hughes of Austin, Texas and the late Master Richard Feagin of Kileen, Texas. He has trained privately with Master Raymond Fogg, Master Don Hamby in the Hung Gar Kung Fu System. 

     Sifu Wright has made several accomplishments in local and regional martial arts tournaments in areas of open hand and weapon forms and fighting. He continues to study, evaluate, practice, and teach Seven Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu with his students and other instructors of the US Kung Fu Exchange Federation.
