My daughter is 7 years old. She has been going to Wrights Kung Fu since she turned 6. (2 years) I can't say enough positive things about Sifu Wright. He is a brilliant kung fu teacher. He is kind, compassionate, and caring, but will kick your behind if you are slacking. Anytime someone is challenging you they will bring out the best in you, and sometimes the worst if you aren't up to the challenge. That's just the way it is. Sifu has our love and respect because he taught our daughter discipline, not to be so shy, not to be a quitter, and how to set a goal and be proud of achieving it. My wife and I have been going to Wrights Kung Fu for just over a year now and I have to say that it was one of the best decisions I have made. Sifu Derrick Wright and his staff do expect a lot of their students but what effort you put forth you do get back (10) fold.

Sifu Derrick Wrights knowledge of traditional 7 Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu is outstanding and he takes to the time to not only teach you the movements of 7 Star Praying Mantis Kung Fu but also why you are doing those movements in the first place. The school prides itself in teaching discipline, self respect, self confidence, and responsibility to all of its students. I have been going here for about a year now and I get what I came for, a good workout, traditional martial arts. Everything is pretty structured and it is organized and ran like a business, as a business man myself I can appreciate that. My main thing is my training is what I get. No business or school is perfect, but I think these guys do a pretty good job.

As soon as you walk in you can already feel positive energy from everyone you meet. Its a good way to learn and progress further in your life. Not only is the staff very helpful, but they also are very reliable in all their duties. By walking into this establishment you will feel absolutely empowered! I have only just recently joined as a student but I have learn so much from the instructors. Mr. Smith and Mr. Martinez have taught me so much and have been very patient with me since I am not really the most athletic. What I think is the best part of the way they teach is that they focus on basics so that you will be able to get the proper training experience. JOIN WRIGHTS KUNGU FU!! YOU WILL LOVE IT!! Our family is having a pretty great time at Wright's Kung Fu. We live in the neighborhood and have seen it at the new location for some time. My son was ready to get back into martial arts. So we planned to visit all the local studios (Jujitsu, Kendo, Kung Fu etc). Wright's was the first place we visited and my son insisted that we look no further.

It has been almost 5 months now and my son is more enthusiastic about Kung Fu than any other extracurricular activity that he has ever participated in. My wife has also joined up, and surprisingly she is also having a really good time. She even goes to the studio more often than I do.

The beginner classes range from elementary school kids all the way up to people in their 40's and 50's (like me). The workouts are pretty hard, it hurts quite a bit for that first month or so. But then you realize that you're getting stronger, can do more push-ups and hold those leg burning positions for longer and longer.

If you're like me and always wanted to try Kung Fu ever since you were a child, this is a good place to give it a shot. - Derek E.
